Cold email platform that runs multi-mailbox campaigns with warm-up, deliverability tools, a shared reply inbox, lead finding and AI agents.
Read on Smartlead's own pages on 27 October 2026
Smartlead is a cold email platform run by 521 Products Pty Ltd in Australia, sold to agencies, SaaS companies and sales teams with high send volumes. It prices by send volume and verified lead allowance, not by user or mailbox, so any plan takes as many Gmail, Outlook or SMTP mailboxes as a team connects. Around the sending it adds warm-up, a lead finder, a shared inbox, AI agents and an optional dialer. Every plan has a 14-day trial with no card, and there is no free plan.
A team connects or buys mailboxes, which start warming up in the vendor's pool as soon as they are added. Leads come from a CSV, a CRM, saved lists or SmartProspect, checked against block, unsubscribe and community bounce lists on import. The sequence mixes email steps with A/B variants and AI spintax, manual tasks and, with SmartDialer, call steps. Sends rotate across the mailboxes, replies land in the Master Inbox, AI files them by category, and Reply Agent drafts answers for a person to send.
What sets it apart is the sending layer: no fee per mailbox, warm-up pools tiered by plan, mailboxes and dedicated servers sold inside the app, placement testing and white label workspaces for agencies. Its own sequences stop at email and calls, so LinkedIn steps run in a separate tool such as HeyReach, Aimfox or Expandi. AI reply sorting is missing on Base, Reply Agent does not send on its own yet, and most extras are paid add-ons.
Key features
Its main features under Smartlead's own names, from its own pages read on 27 October 2026.
Connect any number of Gmail, Outlook or SMTP mailboxes at no fee per mailbox, and each campaign spreads its sends across them automatically so no single address carries the volume.
Every planWarm-up starts when a mailbox is connected, ramps each one on its own schedule and pauses on bounce spikes or spam flags. The pool tier rises with the plan, from Foundation on Base to Premium.
Every plan, pool tier by planA built-in lead finder over a database the vendor sizes at 300M+ business profiles, with each email checked across several data providers and added straight to a campaign.
Verified emails a $59 a month add-on on Base and Pro, included on Smart and PrimeReplies from every mailbox, campaign and client in one inbox, with filters by campaign or reply type, bulk actions, assignment to teammates, internal notes, Slack alerts and CRM sync.
Reads each reply and files the lead under the categories you pick. Pro handles up to 5 categories, and a custom plan up to 10 once you connect your own OpenAI key.
Pro and up, not on BaseDrafts an answer under each Master Inbox thread toward a goal you set: book a meeting, re-engage, qualify or close. A person reviews and sends it, and auto-send is listed as coming soon.
Describe a task in plain words and it builds an agent that runs on a schedule or on a reply, open or click, posting to Slack, Sheets or Airtable or pushing leads to HeyReach.
An assistant inside the app that builds prospect lists from an ICP description, creates campaigns, drafts sequences and checks mailbox and domain health using your own account data.
Every plan, trials includedA power dialer with local US numbers that calls a list one lead after another, picks up leads from call steps in a sequence, and records, transcribes and summarizes each call.
Add-on, credits from $9 a monthAgencies run each client in its own branded workspace with client dashboards, at $29 a month per workspace from Pro. The Prime plan includes 3 workspaces.

Pros and cons
From what reviewers write on review sites and forums, and from Smartlead's own pages, read on 27 October 2026. Each page is listed under the prices.
Every plan takes any number of connected mailboxes with warm-up, and the price follows emails sent: Base is $39 a month for 6,000 sends. Only mailboxes bought through the vendor cost extra.
Product Hunt and Trustpilot reviewers call campaign setup straightforward, with follow‑ups automated. One Product Hunt reviewer says buying pre-warmed mailboxes in the app makes a campaign possible in about a day.
A Product Hunt reviewer running about 20 mailboxes credits the master inbox with ending the switching between them, and Trustpilot reviewers praise handling many sending accounts and clients from one dashboard.
On Trustpilot one agency owner says the agency runs on its open API and another reviewer says it plugs cleanly into other systems. The vendor adds webhooks from Pro, an MCP server and native CRM syncs.
The Smart plan includes 50,000 verified prospect emails a month and no cap on stored contacts for $174 a month, which the vendor pitches as cutting the need for outside verification tools.
Trustpilot reviews from June to October 2026 come back again and again to support that answers in days, through a bot or with questions already answered. Its TrustScore was 2.8 from 137 reviews.
Several Trustpilot reviews from July to October 2026 describe cancellations that were hard to finish and charges after cancelling. Its terms renew plans automatically and make fees non-refundable, and custom plans cancel only through support.
Product Hunt reviewers call the interface dated or slow and say it takes time to learn. On Trustpilot in 2026, reviewers mention a learning curve and a UI that could be better.
A sequence holds email, manual task and call steps only. Automated LinkedIn steps need a separate tool such as HeyReach or Aimfox, triggered through a SmartAgent, or Expandi through its own integration.
Base stores 2,000 contacts and Pro 30,000. Lead credits never reset, so you delete leads or upgrade, and once the monthly sends run out new emails wait for the reset.
AI reply sorting skips Base, client workspaces cost $29 a month each, and verification, SmartDelivery from $49 a month, dialer credits and dedicated servers are all billed on top.
Ratings read on 27 October 2026: Trustpilot 2.8 of 5 from 137 reviews, Product Hunt 4.9 of 5 from 18 reviews

Thanks for connecting, Maya. Saw the two SDR roles. Most teams hire before the pipeline is ready for them. Worth comparing notes?
Jordan O.Sounds useful. Can you send a short overview?

Happy to, Maya. Here is a two-page overview of how teams your size run it with GetSales. Would 15 minutes on Thursday help?

Three things we changed in how our SDRs plan the week, and the one we rolled back after a month. Monday starts with the pipeline now, not the inbox. ...more

Curious which one you rolled back. In our experience the shared call list goes first.
Sam K.
It was the shared call list. Nobody owned an account after week two.

That matches what we see. Named accounts per rep usually fix it. Did you go back to territories?

Questions
Each answer from Smartlead's own pages, read on 27 October 2026.
Smartlead prices by send volume and verified leads, with no fee per mailbox. On monthly billing Base is $39 a month for 6,000 emails and 2,000 contacts, Pro $94 for 90,000 emails and 30,000 contacts, Unlimited Smart $174 for 150,000 emails and Unlimited Prime $379 for 500,000, both with unlimited contacts. Annual billing takes 17% off. On Base and Pro its verified prospect emails are a $59 a month add-on, and white label costs $29 a month per client workspace, from Pro. A plan renews by itself and fees are non-refundable. All read on smartlead.ai on 27 October 2026. GetSales prices LinkedIn accounts, email capacity and data credits, billed monthly, with no per-user fees. The figures are on the pricing page.
Through other tools. Its llms.txt describes email, LinkedIn and calls in one platform, and its help center shows how: a Smartlead sequence has email, call and manual task steps, LinkedIn outreach is listed among the uses of a manual task, which pauses the sequence until someone marks it done, and automated LinkedIn steps run when a SmartAgent passes leads to a HeyReach or Aimfox campaign, which needs an account of that tool. Read on smartlead.ai and helpcenter.smartlead.ai on 27 October 2026. In GetSales, connection requests with a note, messages, InMail and profile visits run from your own LinkedIn account, in one workflow with the email steps, and a wait for the accept gives those who accept and those who do not each their own next step.
Mailboxes and warm-up, yes, on every plan, under its fair use policy, which applies "even if you have subscribed for an unlimited plan" and names abusing the unlimited email warm-up as excessive use. Contacts depend on the plan. Its home page says you can store unlimited leads, while its pricing page holds 2,000 contacts on Base and 30,000 on Pro, unlimited from Unlimited Smart. Its help center says those lead credits do not reset each month: you free them by deleting leads, or you upgrade. Another help center article says leads you archive or move to inactive stop counting against that limit, a change rolling out first to Unlimited plan users with 60,000 leads or more. Sends renew monthly, follow-ups and replies included, and at the limit new emails wait for the reset. All read on smartlead.ai and its help center on 27 October 2026.
A trial, not a free plan. Each plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no credit card, and its pricing page lists four paid plans, from $39 a month on monthly billing, with 50% off the first month on any plan when you sign up. Read on smartlead.ai and its help center on 27 October 2026. Sign up free: Playtables stay free with your own API keys, and LinkedIn and email come with a 7-day trial. GetSales' prices are on the pricing page.
On Base and Pro you cancel from Settings, and the plan stays active until the end of the billing cycle. A custom plan is cancelled through support. Mailboxes bought through SmartSenders are cancelled with the plan, each deleted a day before its next renewal. Its terms renew a plan by itself each period and make fees non-refundable, with no refund for the rest of a period. After you cancel, its help center says the data stays two weeks, then the account enters a deletion phase that support cannot hold off. Its own pages read on smartlead.ai and its help center on 27 October 2026. On Trustpilot, in reviews from August to October 2026, slow support and cancellations that were hard to get through come back again and again. Export your leads before you cancel.
