SignalsWebsite visitors

Website visitor identification for outbound teams.

A short code in the links you send shows which company you wrote to came back, and the pages it opened.

How it works

From a link you sent
to a visit with a name

Set it up once in Settings, Website. After that every link to your site that you send carries the code.

  1. Add your site

Add your site and mark its key pages, such as pricing and demo. Paste the two-line snippet into every page, or add it through your tag manager.

  2. Pick what a visit names

Companies by default: a visit shows the company you wrote to, never a name. With no code, the visitor's network names the company when it belongs to one. Switch a site to People for the names of people you write to.

  3. Confirm the consent

Visitors from the EU, the EEA or the UK have to consent first, and your privacy policy has to say you track visits. Confirm both in the site's settings.

  4. Send as usual

Links to your site in workflows, Unibox and the AI SDR's sends carry a short code. The snippet reads it, then removes it.

  5. Act on the visit

The visit lands in Signals with its pages, source and country. On a site at People it joins the person's thread, and a play can pause their journey.

In Unibox

In the thread,
never in the reply

A visit from someone you write to sits in their Unibox thread. It tells you when to write.

  • The pages, the time on each and the source
  • A live alert while they are on a key page
  • An English draft that mentions it is refused

On a site switched to People.

How do I identify website visitors?

Add your site in Settings, Website, mark its key pages and paste the snippet into every page. From then on, every link to your site that your workflows, Unibox and the AI SDR send carries a short code. When someone opens it, the visit shows which company you wrote to came back, or on a site you switch to People, which person, with the pages they opened. A visit with no code is named by the visitor's network when that network belongs to a company.

What is website visitor identification?

It tells you who is behind a visit to your site. Many tools match the visitor's address to a company. GetSales starts from the people you write to: the link in your message carries a short code, so the visit names the company you wrote to, or the person. A visit with no code is named by the visitor's network when it belongs to a company. Either way the visit lands in Signals beside your outreach.

How do I identify anonymous website visitors?

GetSales never names a person you do not already have. A visit with no code is named by the visitor's network when that network belongs to a company, and every visit is recorded with its pages, its source, its country and its browser. On a site switched to People, a visit is also named by an email the visitor gave your site or a browser they used before, and only when that person is already in your workspace.

Can I see who is visiting my website?

You see which of the companies you wrote to came back, and on a site at People, which person. A visit with no code shows its company when the visitor's network belongs to one. Signals lists one row per company, person or unnamed visitor, newest visit first, and each visit opens with its pages, the time on each, the source, the country and the browser.

What do I have to disclose to my visitors?

The tracking on your site is yours to run lawfully, at either level. Visitors from the EU, the EEA or the UK have to consent first: set Consent to Required and connect your banner, and nothing is stored in their browser until they agree. Your privacy policy has to say that you track visits, and on a site at People that you recognize visitors by name. You confirm both in the site's settings, and a site without that confirmation gets no codes in its links.

Will the person know I saw their visit?

Not from the AI SDR. A visit tells you when to write, never what to say: the AI SDR is told never to mention one, and a draft in English that does, such as "I noticed you visited our pricing page", is refused before it is stored.

Do my own team's visits count?

No. Add your office and VPN addresses to the site's ignored addresses, and their visits never become a signal. Bots never count either, and neither does a visitor who gives an email on your own domain.

Does a visit cost credits?

No. A visit comes from the snippet on your own site, so recording it spends no credits, and the play On a website visit reads nothing and spends none either. A workflow you add someone to spends what its own steps spend.
